This moment has been a very-long time coming.
Today marks the initial launch of the standalone website of the World Liberty Financial Retail Community DAO.
For those of you who are new here, I'm Vincent, and I created a Discord server in October of 2024 to gather WLFI holders in a more secured space for discussing WLFI governance. For those who don't recall - the governance forum was filled with slop, users "voting" in the replies, and at this point, it has become a meme of sorts. Replies are not equal to voting.
This community has 3 core uses:
- Providing visibility into who is actually a WLFI holder. No spam. No forum-sliding.
- Verified $WLFI Holders only. You must hold $WLFI to participate. Your conviction is acknowledged. Having less tokens doesn't mean your opinion matters less - but it does show whether you have a larger leg to stand-on. Your holdings may be visible if you so choose - but your wallet address is never visible to the masses. Locked holdings are included, distinction is not visible to anyone.
- Separating from being Discord-first to Discord-optional. While Discord is great - it is not easy to develop for, and limits as to what we can provide and offer to the community. With a standalone site - we have much more flexibility as to what can be implemented - and allows for a much more thoughtful and slowed-down discussion. This site is also much more privacy-focused. Yes - disclosing wallet addresses are required, but they're fully visible on-chain, and if you plan on voting, you'd be using an alias anyway. If Satoshi Nakamoto can post on a forum, so can you.
Holder Verification: You will never be asked to send someone else assets, sign a message, or provide a private key, from any members, whether or not they're from the WLFI team, our team, or elsewhere. Anyone asking you to do so is attempting to scam you.
Holder verification works as follows:
- You provide your ETH or SOL address.
- You choose WLFI / USD1 / ETH or SOL.
- The site gives you a certain amount of the asset to send yourself - from the wallet you're verifying, to your own address (WALLET A --> WALLET A).
- The site scans, and sees that you've sent that amount, and grants you your roles.
On Ethereum - this currently includes:
- Held $WLFI tokens.
- Tokens you've transferred to the $WLFI lockbox (Presale, locked tokens).
- USD1 points you've earned by depositing $USD1 in WLFI Markets or Dolomite.
Both can be hidden if you wish - and there is a minimum requirement of 2,000 WLFI tokens to be able to get access. This limit will be adjusted over-time as the price of WLFI changes. This minimum is to prevent spam, and also improve the experience for the majority of users. All non-verified users can still access the site to read the forum without participating.
This is still the early days. We will be implementing vote delegation, non-binding on-forum voting, and other functionalities in the coming weeks/months.
A reminder that WLFI DAO / the World Liberty Financial Retail Community DAO is NOT affiliated with the World Liberty Financial team, is NOT endorsed by the WLFI team, and has zero connection to the WLFI team. Anything that appears to be a business connection is simply a coincidence and participation by any members of their team should not be considered an endorsement or official support of our views. The views of the community leads, admins, moderators, and users do not represent WLFI or any of their affiliated entities. WLFI has not and does not currently financial support this initiative, whether or not that changes in the future has yet to be seen.
